AWARD | THREESIS ACADEMIC CHALLENGE | GRADUATE SCHOOL OF ARTS AND SCIENCES, NEW YORK UNIVERSITY | APRIL, 2018

The Threesis Academic Challenge is a vehicle to showcase the academic excellence and important scholarly work of Graduate Students of Arts and Sciences at New York University master’s students. Each participant has three minutes to present a compelling oration on the significance of their research in language appropriate for a non-specialized audience.

Judging Criteria is based on mastery (does the speaker clearly grasp the material?), style (is the thesis topic and its significance communicated in language accessible for a non-specialized audience?) and engagement (does the oration captivate and intrigue the audience?).

I was proud to represent the New York University English Department with my presentation on my Master’s thesis “Mass Produced Personal Treasures: Gift Books in Antebellum America” and thrilled to be awarded second place in the competition.
