My name is Emma Sarconi.
As a librarian and book historian, I seek to facilitate conversations around the impact of special collections in our lives by providing quality reference services, instruction design, project management and event planning.
I currently work as the Outreach and Reference Professional for Special Collections in Firestone Library at Princeton University.
As a member of the public services team at Firestone, I answer remote and in person reference questions, provide in-person reference support to visitors, contribute to our growing teaching program and work on special projects including the Archival Silences Working Group, the Her Book at Princeton Project and the ARCH program. I’m also the lead on Special Collection’s burgeoning outreach program collaborating with on an off-campus partners including the Princeton University makerspace and the Princeton Public Library (more on this soon!).
I also serve as the Chair of the RBMS Leab Exhibition Awards Committee and am a member of the Bibsite Editorial Group.
I have a Bachelor’s of Arts in Book and Media Studies from University of Toronto, a Masters in English from New York University and a Masters of Library Science from Long Island University.
I believe that you are special enough for special collections.
